Our journey of migrating Silpo to Angular [ukr]
This talk begins with a brief overview of frontend history, mentioning the era of AngularJS dominance and the reasons for its subsequent decline in popularity (particularly its complexity and the rise of React).
The main part of the presentation focuses on modern improvements in Angular, such as:
- Standalone Components: These simplify app structure by reducing the need for modules and making composition and lazy loading easier.
- Signals: They offer a simpler approach to state management and change detection compared to RxJS, improving performance and reducing the risk of memory leaks.
- Control Flow: The introduction of new, more intuitive directives (@if, @for) for controlling flow in templates.
The presentation argues that thanks to these innovations, Angular has become significantly simpler, more flexible, and more approachable, especially for beginners, and encourages developers to consider it for their projects without hesitation.
