about the course
People Management: AI era is a hands-on crash course on how to work with people and teams systematically in modern IT.
Mentor: Andrii Labenskyi, Head of PMO in GameDev.
You’ll go through the entire people management cycle:
- from grades, competencies, and motivation to delegation, 1:1s, feedback, difficult conversations, PDPs, and performance reviews
- learn to better understand people’s needs and maturity level, give them room to grow, and build clear processes inside your team
A separate focus is how AI is changing a manager’s job:
- what can be delegated to AI, how to use it to prepare for 1:1s, feedback, PDPs, and reviews
- where human oversight is needed and which ethical risks are important to take into account
The course is built around practice:
- you’ll work with real management situations
- you’ll create your own tools and rehearse difficult conversations that you can then take back to your team

- Practice: working through real scenarios and rehearsing difficult conversations

- – The evaluation system: process, participants, meetings, and communication
- – Performance review: how to gather facts and give a well-founded rating
- – Bias in evaluation, calibration, and 360 feedback
- – Why team-level DORA and SPACE metrics are dangerous to use for evaluating an individual
- – AI for PDPs and reviews: goals, organizing results, drafting wording, and checking for bias
- – AI ethics in people management: personal data, transparency, and the manager’s accountability
- Practice: creating a PDP and preparing for a performance review with AI

- – Holds several ICAgile certifications (Leading SAFe, Team Facilitation, Product Ownership)
- – Implemented SAFe in a company from scratch
- – Launched an initiative to substantially improve the quality of Homescapes/Gardenscapes (remastering)
- – Built a system for developing and evaluating specialists. Established a strong, flexible PMO function in the company, capable of handling a wide range of tasks and meeting business needs
