Senior Back-End Engineer (PHP Symfony)

Newage is a product-led company, connecting people and technology to make our teams and clients succeed. The product teams inside Newage develop platforms for fintech, marketplace, iGaming, insurtech, and other businesses. We are looking for a Senior PHP Engineer for our new project. The goal of our project is to build fundamentally new solutions for news/media portals on the principles of web 3.0. No Legacy, latest versions, regular updates, full test coverage. Our stack: Backend: PHP, Symfony Frontend: Next.js Framework (React); Mobile App: React-Native; Other: Docker, AWS( ECS, Fargate, s3, ALB, ES, EC, SSM ) CI/CD GitLab, CloudFlare as WAF, and CDN.

Skills required

▪️ 5+ years of commercial experience with PHP (php7/8, Symfony); ▪️ Knowledge of OOP, and design patterns; ▪️ Experience with relational and NoSQL database design; ▪️ Experience in working with: Docker, CI/CD, message brokers and queues, full-text search, API design, AWS Services; ▪️ Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git; Linux/Unix-based operating systems and a command-line interface experience; ▪️ Good knowledge of the English language (written and spoken); ▪️ Understanding of Agile methodology (Scrum, Kanban); ▪️ Knowledge of basic DevOps techniques.

Responsibilities

▪️ Insist best practices for software development and documentation, assure designs meet requirements, and deliver high-quality work on tight schedules; ▪️ Implementing the new features to the product; ▪️ Make periodical code review and optimization; ▪️ Suggest improvements in the Backend; ▪️ Exploring new ideas and best solutions.
