Turning Kubernetes into a full-fledged private cloud [ukr]
At the conference, I will present an approach to extending the capabilities of Kubernetes, transforming it into a fully-fledged private Cloud with support for virtualization, isolated networks, and multi-organization authentication.
Key Topics of the Talk:
🔹 KubeVirt – How to add full-fledged virtualization to Kubernetes, run traditional virtual machines (VMs) alongside containers, efficiently manage resources, and maintain flexibility for DevOps teams.
🔹 Kube-OVN – Traffic isolation and network segmentation for each namespace, creating independent virtual networks to enhance security and manageability.
🔹 Authentication and Multi-Tenancy:
- How to support multiple organizational units in Kubernetes.
- Integration of OIDC providers via Keycloak, enabling flexible authorization for different users and organizations.
🔹 MVP Demo: I will present a prototype of Kube-DC, a private cloud-oriented solution that enables the deployment of virtual machines, Kubernetes projects, and isolated environments within a single cluster.
🎯 Who Will Benefit From This Talk?
- DevOps Engineers
- Cloud Architects
- Developers migrating to a Kubernetes-based infrastructure
- IT teams looking for a cost-effective alternative to AWS/GCP/Azure
💡 The goal of the presentation is to demonstrate that Kubernetes is not just a platform for containers, but a fully-featured private cloud that can be easily adapted to business needs.

- Has experience in the commercial use of Open Source since 2005.
- More than a hundred successful infrastructure projects.
- Leads engineering and product teams as CTO at SHALB and cluster.dev
