Every sale event demands additional (and what's worse, non-systemic) work: creating a non-standard discount for a particular brand, or increased cashback for orders from mobile app, or some custom promocode. It's time to put an end to this. I'll tell how we built a "discount builder" using the rules engine and no longer write any ad hoc if's before each sale.
